The location for random musings. Short stories and other creative thoughts that needed to be placed somewhere. Always a great way to get past writer’s block is to just place something, anything, down on ‘paper’. Get the thoughts out, see where they take you, and get those creative juices flowing!
Note that these are very old, written 20 some odd years ago while in college.
A short story I wrote based of a writing prompt from reddit which posed the question ‘what if the world had a single territorial line, the equator.’ I was further inspired by the story of a Japanese animated film titled Vexille, which saw Japan go dark and cut itself off from the world, only to one day re-emerge significantly more technologically advanced. Combined with political debates over the funding of space exploration, and you come to this short story as an outlet of my hope we can some day move forward as a single species as Star Trek visionary Gene Roddenberry once hoped.
“This is a Test” – 5 minute story
As it states if you follow the link, I found a website at the time called “The Most Dangerous Writing App” If you stopped writing for more than a few seconds all your progress would be lost. I opened the app and began typing “This is a test” I watched as my words slowly began to disappear, so I quickly began typing further from there, resulting in this fun little story of some engineers in a mysterious facility conducting a test that turns out to be all too real.
When I began to create a variety of content to post here I began with something non-fiction, just a simple musing of what, precisely, it is about films that has always captured my attention and sparked my creativity since I was young enough to work a VCR. I quickly realized it was the movie theater experience that never gets old for me and keeps pushing me forward to achieve the greatness I see on display every time those lights dim.
